Prince Edward Island has a wealth of festivals and events to experience during the summer months, and the PEI Potato Board is ably represented at many of these events by “Tate,” our mascot!
Tate the Great PEI Potato travels to festivals, events, and tourist attractions across the Island each week during the summer and fall. He loves to meet people of all ages and especially loves to have his photo taken with both Islanders and visitors! The Board encourages potato lovers to share their photos with Tate with us by uploading your photo to Twitter or Facebook and tagging it with #PEIPotatoes!
Upcoming opportunities to meet Tate in August and September include:
Old Home Week, including the Gold Cup and Saucer Parade on August 16th
At the Charlottetown Waterfront, greeting visitors arriving on cruise ships
Farm Day in the City in Charlottetown on September 29th
Toe Taps & Taters, a Fall Flavours Signature Event on September 27th in O’Leary
Tate has been busy so far this summer, as he has already attended the Summerside Lobster Carnival, the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival, the Crapaud Exhibition, the Potato Blossom Festival in O’Leary, the Village Feast in Souris, and more!
If you would like to invite Tate to your festival or event, please contact Ann Marie White at 892-6551 or at annmarie@peipotato.org.
