Our Favourite Day is FryDay during PEI Burger Love 2013!

(CHARLOTTETOWN, PE  –  April 4th, 2013)   Everyone knows that burgers and fries are best friends, making it an easy decision for the Prince Edward Island Potato Board to be a partner in the 2013 edition of PEI Burger Love, a month-long celebration of PEI beef.  Thirty-one Island restaurants have created unique and mouth-watering burgers using 100% Prince Edward Island beef, and PEI Potatoes are excited to come on board as a partner in this promotion.

As a part of PEI Burger Love 2013, our favourite day of the week is definitely “FryDay.”  On Fridays in April, we are encouraging anyone ordering a PEI Burger Love burger to order fries made from Prince Edward Island Potatoes.  Those that tweet or share a photo of their delicious burgers and fries will have a chance to win a limited edition “FryDay” T-shirt from the PEI Potato Board.  As well, one lucky “FryDay” participant each week will win 50 lbs of Prince Edward Island Potatoes!

According to Greg Donald, General Manager of the PEI Potato Board, “the Board is excited to partner in PEI Burger Love, promoting fries made here on Prince Edward Island from the best potatoes in the world!  Fries make a perfect pairing with burgers, so we think our involvement with PEI Burger Love made logical sense. As well, a number of PEI potato growers are also beef producers, so we are pleased to sponsor a promotion that highlights both commodities.  We are proud of our farmers who produce high quality food, not only for Islanders but for customers across the country and around the world.”

The Board wishes to thank the crew at Stay Golden Apparel in Charlottetown for supplying and to Fresh Media for designing the “FryDay” T-shirts for this promotion.
